'Little Stan' stays perpetually young. Even with age, the very slow-growing, upright tree keeps its juvenile needles, rather than developing typical scale-like, adult foliage. The seedling selection from Nelis Kools, Netherlands, is an unusual and useful conifer that lends great character to small gardens. Hardiness increases with maturity; prefers well-drained soil.
