| Pinus strobus 'Angle Falls' |
This refined version of the popular Weeping White Pine (Pinus strobus ‘Pendula’) stood out among sibling seedlings started at Iseli Nursery in 1981. Early in the evaluation process, the long, narrow, light-green needles, strong weeping habit and profusion of buds and branches showed promise of extraordinary quality. 20 years of evaluation culminated in honoring the unique tree with the name of the world's tallest waterfall in Venezuela. |

Pinus strobus
'Uconn' |
Eastern
white pine is one of our most popular and easy-to-grow conifers
and is best used in large scale plantings. `Uconn' is among the
best of the intermediate sized `dwarf' selections for home landsapes.
Our oldest plant is about 18 feet tall with a rounded top and 11
feet wide in the middle at just over l5 years. It's still a big
conifer, but slower growing and much more dense than the species.
From Sydney Waxman, University of Connecticut or as the alumni say,
'Uconn'. |
